It's unfortunate that Rowling doesn't take the time to understand people of varying sexual orientations. What's more sad is that she doesn't take interest in her fan base. That she seems to have become "successful enough" to say hateful and distasteful things, publicly, that it doesn't seem to matter to her that many of her "fans" are trans/non-binary/asexual. Whatever. The main disappointment is that she has become disconnected from her base. I never read Harry Potter and certainly will not now, or anything else she writes.
It is disappointing. I’ve always gotten the vibe from her that she sees social media as her own personal stage. It used to be that she’d virtue signal about her own benevolence, but now she’s gone completely the other way. She really relishes being the center of attention. But at least there are other fantasy authors (who aren’t bigots) to support instead!
It depends what you're into, but if you want something incredibly uplifting and hopeful, especially right now, then you might want to give it another try. Both books are beautiful.
I remember really liking Klune's voice, so I think the audiobook will be perfect. Next time I'm in the mood for fantasy, I'll definitely be checking it out!

Truth! And more and more trans/enby/lgbtq ones, for that! Still waiting for more asexual writers to emerge. Are you aware of TJ Klune?
I am! Started House in the Cerulean Sea last year but never got around to finishing it. I think I'll try the audiobook!
