Ughhh I wanted to read this until you said she goes back to eating meat. Of course she does! Very few characters in literature or films are allowed to just be vegetarian/vegan in peace.
I know you said Atwood isn't one of your favs (she gets a B in my book), but have you considered also trying out her MaddAddam series? I only read the first book and couldn't enjoy it enough to finish, but I'd be curious to hear your perspective on the genetically engineered animals in the first book in the series, "Oryx and Crake". And given I'm also not a huge Atwood fan (I did like Handmaid's Tale), and your take on this most recent piece of fiction, I'll be skipping this one, also.
Definitely planning to get to the MaddAddam series soon, thinking that will be the next of hers I read. And if I hate it, at least maybe I can write something about it? lol
Ha! Yes, I would be surprised if you did not find something in that series to write about. The first book is quite fascinating, I just didn't get what everyone else seemed to love so much about it.
I found books like that so fun. Sounds like Madame Bovary, some kind of drama 🌱 Her book the Lighthouse which I see the most sounds really dramatic too... and her whole life really, and how it ended 🌱
